Socobom's research is set in the fields of neurobiology and biotechnology and focuses on key elements in anti-aging and the possible application of new insights in medicine and anti-aging treatments. Current research covers protein synthesis and cancer prevention techniques (free radical scavenging and mitochondrial membrane curing). In the future Socobom plans for more scientific research on DNA modification and its application in genetic medicine practice.
In research and development Socobom is assisted by its vast open source innovation network and cooperates closely with the scientific laboratories of molecular neurobiology of the KULAK (Catholic University Leuven/Kortrijk, Belgium).
In line with the outcomes of the nerf-project (www.nerf.be) between imec (Belgian world-leading research institute in nano-electronics and nano-technology), KULAK (Catholic University Leuven/Kortrijk) and VIB (Flanders' leading life science institute) Socobom plans to develop new biomedical applications and looks at practical implementation in global businesses and industry players. This collaboration stresses the collaboration between multiple scientific institutions in Belgium. The project is being supported by the Flemish Government.
